On Hunger Games and Wrath of the Titans

Raven and I watched the Hunger Games and Wrath of the Titans on two consecutive weekends.

Hunger Games was a promising movie series. I saw the books in bookstores in Manila and SF and I heard about the movie from two office friends over lunch. I was afraid of Hunger Games-Twilight connection, but I guess its that that cheesy as that of the vampire-werewolf-human-love triangle. I believe I will watch the 2nd installment of the book in cinemas end of 2012.

Wrath of the Titans was a disappointment! I recently watched the Clash of the Titans via cable channel and it was a-OK. But Wrath offers no spectacular scenes or story. Being a bit of a Greek mythology fan, I am frustrated at the flow of the story and at most parts of the movie. Where is the Wrath they are talking about? Wrath of Kronus (he did not even cause that much destruction)? Perseus defeating Ares, the god of war on an armed combat? Zeus and Hades doing the walking and fighting scene? Lame if you will ask me!

Satire daw

There is this journalist from Hongkong who recently made some racial slur.

His name is Chip Tsao. Some people are saying its satire. A lot of people are clamoring for some public apology.

Travel Visa

I spent the whole morning in Makati doing a follow-up for my "ostrich" visa. Actually 2 weeks ago nag-personal appearance ako sa opisina nila para i-submit ang mga requirements. Nakakalungkot lang today kase ayaw ako papasukin sa opisina nila, dahil daw wala ako appointment, 8AM~9AM lang daw yung follow-up tapo 9:15 na daw so mag-email or tawag na lang daw ako. Nung tumawag naman ako me manang na sumagot sa akin, at padabog na na sinabing "pag walang tawag sa yo, wala pa yung visa mo". Tried emailing them pero wala pa ring nangyayari. Nakakalungkot isipin na kung sino pa yung kalahi mo, sya pa magsusungit sa yo. I really felt bad, parang nagmamakaawa pa ako sa kanila na payagan ako makapunta sa bansa nila, eh sa akin lang pumunta man ako dun or hinde ok lang ako, yung kumpanya ko na lang mag-shoulder sa non-reimbursible expense sa conference.
