RSA and SF

Just got back from SF and RSA. Lots of backlog at work and at home. Some insights about RSA and San Francisco, more vendors attended the expo, the the freebies was quite limited (unlike last year). My favorite bookstore is gone (Borders) and this was my 1st SF trip that I did not got any Warcraft book :(

Palawan Day 02

Happy Valentine's Day to all especially to my Raven!

Finally I have transferred the pics from the camera to the pc, so at least that task is moving.

As a Valentine's gift to Raven, I am posting the highlights of our Palawan Trip - Day 02

Day 02 is the PPUR Tour or Puerto Princesa Underground River Tour.

Our Tour Guide was Nelia and our driver was Macky.
We woke up very early, grabbed our packed breakfast from the hotel and left for Sabang Beach.
We stopped somewhere in the middle of the trip to eat our breakfast.
From Sabang Beach we have the boat ride to the  Puerto Princesa Underground River.
The underground river is really great and it deserves to be in the New Wonders List. Our PPUR boatman-slash-guide is funny too.
Because we were kinda bitin in the Sabang Beach (full story not fit for Chartotem Blog) after returning to the city in the afternoon, we hired a tricycle to go a nearby beach (Pristine Beach)
To wrap up the day, we had a dinner date at KaLui

Palawan Day 01

Raven and I went to Palawan last month. I have not yet sorted all the pics and vids as I am busy with a lot of stuff (official work as well + the extra-curricular).
But since today is our monthsary I am creating this post as a placeholder of the future post about our Palawan Trip.

Palawan and Puerto Princesa Day 01 Highlights:
1. My First Time in the Domestic Terminal :D
2. PPS pala is the airport code for Puerto Princesa City
3. We had our City Tour and our Tour Guide was Nema (she said she was the younger sis of Nemo)

4. Their museum have hologram. Social.
5. Visited the Cathedral
6. Visited the Palawan Massacre memorial
7. Go out of the main city, Raven tried weaving (hahaha)
8. Visited crocodile farm. Realized that it is not appropriate to call politicians and corrupt law enforcers, B-word (It is a dishonor for them to be called names like that). So I decided, from now on I will not call them (Politicians and Corrupt LE's) the B-word.
9. The lovely Binturong (Palawan Bear Cat)
10. Bakers hill and their wonderful goodies (hopia, spanish bread, yema, etc)
11. Dinner at Kinabuchs
Its really more fun in the Philippines :)

2012: Just Say No to Softdrinks

Yehey! Its been 28 days since I'm softdrinks-free! It's a personal decision and I hope it will be better for my health.

I still maintain the 1 per month emergency rule ( in the event that softdrinks are the safer, more economically sound choice)

Hopefully I can keep this up in all the months of 2012. Wish me luck :)

Pacquiao vs Marquez III

It's the time of the year again when majority of Pinoys will be glued to their TV sets (or PC screens) and will be cheering for the "Pambansang Kamao" Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao. Crime rate will be low and there would be no traffic congestion in the streets of the Metro Manila and sometimes you wonder and wish that "Sana araw araw me laban si Pacquiao!"

I wish Pacman all the best in his boxing bout against Marquez. He trained hard for this fight and he is in prime shape. I hope he stays with the fight plan given by Coach Roach. Forget about the politics and other distractions because today is fight night!

Its almost a month now since I left Char in the talyer.

So its almost several weeks worth of commuting experience for me and Raven, but its ok I know it will be the best for both me and char.

Today is a “thank a friend” day for me. But since I have so many friends to thank so thank you friends will be better post title right?

Thank you friend A, for being there and sharing your balanced view of things, both in and out of work. Those talks keep me sane.

Thank you friends B (yes that’s both of you B’s), for those unplanned moments. Those kitakits makes me happy.

Thank you friend C, for telling me the naked truth that I really suck on some things (and I need to improve on it). That advice keeps my feet on the ground.

Taipei 2011 Visit

I visited Taipei this week.


Weather was cool but on our last 2 days it started to rain. The hotel is ok, it has the basics (unlike the other Taipei Visits wherein hotels are usually hi-tech) but I am getting used to the spartan life. The good side of it is that the place is quite and peaceful.

Places and food highlights included Din Tai Fung Sogo, Royal Host, Hooters Taipei and Taiwan Beer.

On the work sked, it’s quite tight as I still have meetings on Friday past 7 in the evening. But it was a good visit, keeping in touch with old friends and meeting new ones.

Happy 70th Birthday Mama!!!

Last March 3 was her birthday and we celebrated it with friends, family and other loved ones on Sunday March 6.

I know there are lots of challenges especially on the preps but I’m just so glad that Mama was so happy on that day.

Special thanks and mention to Ate Ciel who spearheaded the preps, To Raven for representing me when I was away in US, to Papa, to all my brothers and sisters, to my nephews and nieces, to my Tito and Tita and to my cousin too, to my extended family, especially to Becks and Eman, and all support staff, and lastly to all the well-wishers, Thank you!

Happy 5th Raven!!!

Bad boy me still went to the office even its our special day. I did not go to the office during the post-Christmas and pre-New year period so work stuff piled up for the 1st week of the year and I want to clear it out first.

We did go to a special place that evening. We dined and wined that night!!! The dinner was special one as we don’t usually go to that special steakhouse. And maybe it was made more special because of the red wine! I was uneasy at first sip (I don’t usually mix alcohol and food) but enjoyed sipping the wine at the end.

This song is on my playlist (iPod, laptop and phone). I really love the song not just that its because it is sung by Ely and Francis M. It really reminds me of the old eheads song about friendship, moments, childhood memories and drinking sprees (Pare Ko, Minsan and Sembreak). I think the "wasak" term really means "wagas", but as wagas sounds too cheesy and pang-oldie song na, wasak may be a better fit.

Wrathgate

I was not expecting that WoTLK have some cinematics that will be triggered after completing quests. I knew about something about this Wrathgate when I was looking for something related to Varimathras. I am posting the video site courtesy of Youtube and Liljon94:

Honestly I was sad to bring younger Saurfang’s armor back to his dad High Overlord Saurfang in Borean Tundra. But I was surprised that older Saurfang seems to have no emotions (so far), and Orcs valuing to honor above is really admirable (reminded me of Broxigar).
